NEW ELLENTON, SC – GLENN EDWARD NORDEEN, SR., 73, went to heaven on Sunday, December 11, 2016. A native of New Ellenton, SC, Glenn was a son of the late John T. and Alice Love Nordeen. He was a graduate of Aiken High School Class of 1961 and loved playing football for the Aiken Hornets. Glenn was a retired pipefitter and welder with Local 150 in Augusta, GA. He will forever be in the hearts of thousands whom he met over the years while traveling and working all over the United States. He was a Certified Pipefitter-Welder Instructor, sharing his vast knowledge with many young men and women in the Pipefitter Unions throughout the industry. He was a member of American Legion Post 169 and visited other American Legion Posts around the area, always chipping in to lend a hand cooking his famous smoked BBQ. Glenn loved being around family and friends. He was gifted in the art of painting a visual picture with his unique ability of storytelling. Known as the “Bee Man”, he was a Master Beekeeper and a member of the Aiken Beekeepers Association. He was a collector of vintage cars and trucks, and would “Rather push a Ford than drive a Chevrolet”! He was a member of the Liars’ Breakfast Club in New Ellenton. He coached little league baseball in New Ellenton for many years and was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. His greatest joy and what made him the happiest was when he graduated from being “Daddy” to “Papaw Nordeen”. He got a big kick out of being called their “chauffeur”.
