April 4, 1960 — November 10, 2016

AIKEN, SC – THERESA MANN-SWAFFORD, 56, beloved wife of John J. Swafford, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Augusta University Medical Center. A native and life-long resident of Aiken County, Theresa was a daughter of Rev. Rabun and Barbara Johnson Cowart. She worked with Manpower since 1999 and was Regional Director overseeing Aiken, Greenwood, Augusta, Thomson and Waynesboro territories. Theresa was a member of the 2008-2009 Class of Leadership Aiken County. She was a 2013 Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and had served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors since 2014. She was currently a member of the Executive Board. Theresa was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband and parents, include her daughter, April Mann Mitchell; her son, David Mann, all of Aiken; a step-daughter, Stephanie Reneé Swafford, Aiken; step-sons, James Kevin Swafford, Aiken, John Cory Swafford, Rossville, GA; four grandchildren, Mallory Raegan Leeth, Lainie McKaelyn Mitchell, Zachary Gabriel Mann, Karsyn Erin Mann; six step-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Cowart Voncannon (Michael), West Columbia, TX; her brother, Doug Cowart (Bobbi), North Augusta and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, November 13th beginning at 2 o’clock at Shiloh Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock. The Revs. Chris Masters and Taylor Wells will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (www.ocrfa.org).
