Dorothy A. Weisert

WILLISTON, SC – DOROTHY ANN WEISERT, 79, beloved wife of George V. Weisert, Sr, died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Born in Wheeling, WV, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Anthony and Ida Smila.  She grew up and lived most her life in Euclid, OH before moving to Aiken County in 1985.  Dorothy was a loan manager and retired from CSRA Federal Credit Union in Augusta, GA.  She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband George, include five children, George V. Weisert, Jr. (Ruby), Williston, SC, Karen Lee, Richmond Heights, OH, Louis A. Weisert, Williston, SC, William J. Weisert (Suzanne), North Augusta, SC and Richard A. Weisert, Aiken, SC; ten grandchildren; brother, William Smila, Glasgow, KY; a special new-found friend, Debbie-Lyn Williams, Mt. Warigal, New South Wales, Australia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Leindecker; a brother, Louis Smila and a son-in-law, Michael Lee. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, with a prayer vigil at 6:30. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Park Avenue.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
