Edith Mae Whitley Propst

AIKEN – Mrs. Edith Mae Whitley Propst, 98, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 in Pineview Memorial Park, North Augusta. The Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea, III will officiate. Mrs. Propst was born in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Russell W. and Ruth Sikes Whitley. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1945, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Aiken. She is survived by a daughter, Dayle Britt (J.R.) Duncan, Warrenville; a son, Russell (Ruth) Collins, Warner Robins, GA; a step son, Henry Propst, Ola, SC; four grandchildren, William Britt Barkley, Susan Maria Bates, Travis Collins, Kyle Collins; a sister, Dorothy Cawley, Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Propst. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802.
