Mary Alice Hurd Staley

AIKEN, SC – MARY ALICE HURD STALEY, 64, beloved wife of William Edward “Bill” Staley, Sr., died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A native of Florence, AL, Mary was a daughter of the late William Eugene and Metta Alice Clifton Hurd. She lived in Aiken for the last 6 months and was a member of South Aiken Church of God. Survivors, in addition to her husband Bill, include six sons, William Eugene Young (Dani), Schonebeck, Germany. Ronald Stephen Young (Jennifer), Boaz, AL, Edward Allen Young, (Doris), Bay Town, TX, Robert Vernon Young (Shanin), New Ellenton, SC, William Edward “Wes” Staley (Kim), VA and Kenneth Clark Staley (Amanda), North Augusta, SC; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Kenny Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
