Sam Walter Lowe, Jr.

NEW ELLENTON, SC – SAM WALTER LOWE, JR., 89, died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Aiken. A native of Ellenton, SC, Sam was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and was a son of the late Sam Walter Lowe, Sr., and Josephine Stallings Gray. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Sam was a retired maintenance supervisor with Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a 32 Degree Mason, served as Master of New Ellenton Masonic Lodge #389, was a member of Scottish Rite and the Jamil Shrine Temple. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Lowe, Barnwell; Andy Lowe (Donna), New Ellenton, David L. New (Mary), Aiken, Sam W. Lowe III, Aiken; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
