Ethel Nadine Sumner

AIKEN – Mrs. Ethel Nadine Humphries Sumner, 76, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel. The Reverend Terry Newsome will officiate. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Kitchens, Timothy Kitchens, Chris Kitchens, James Whittle, Mike Bell, Joseph Randall, Stephen Willis, Randy Whittle, Jacob Whittle. Mrs. Sumner was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and a daughter of the late Willie F. and Ethel Williams Humphries. She loved gardening and her family. She is survived by her daughters, Myra (Randy) Whittle, Aiken, Beverly Clark, Augusta; sons Ronald (Debby) Herron, Augusta, William A. (Tina) Randall, Warrenville; grandchildren, Daniel E. (Misty) Herron, Jamie (Tonya) Whittle, Nicole Herron, William Joseph Randall, Beth Randall; great grandchildren, Nick and Jacob Whittle; sister, Doris Bell (Charles) Parrish, Langley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Peters. Memorials may be directed to the Aiken SPCA, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
