Erin McClellan Rivers

COLUMBIA, SC – ERIN REBECCA McCLELLAN RIVERS, 43, died suddenly Friday, March 8, 2013 at her residence in Columbia. Born in Augusta, GA, Erin was a daughter of Donna Youmans and the late Joseph W. McClellan, Jr. She lived most of her life in Aiken and was an honor graduate of St. Angela Academy. She was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the New England Institute, Boston, MA. Erin was a co-founder and former vice president of Rivers Funeral Home in Aiken. She had lived in Columbia since 2007 and was a funeral director at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home in Columbia. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. Erin was a member of the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association and formerly served as vice president of SCFDA Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Sydney Victoria Rivers; two sons, J. Campbell Rivers and Nicholas Clark Rivers, all of Aiken; mother, Donna Youmans, Lyons, GA, brother, Timothy McClellan, Lyons, GA; and former husband, C. Mitchell Rivers, Aiken. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev.
