Lillie Baughman Pennington

AIKEN – Lillie Baughman Pennington, 99, died Dec. 2. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Olin Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow at Darien Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in Aiken Co. to the late LaFayette and Annie Grice Baughman. She was a life long resident of Aiken, member of Darien Baptist Church, and a homemaker. Survivors include her loving daughters, Faye P. Slaughter and Bessie Ann Rains of Aiken. Other survivors include grandchildren, Glenda VanDerVliet, Melody Heffline, Rock Slaughter, Rebecca Rains, James Pennington, Brenton Pennington; eight great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Pennington, daughter, Retha Perry, son, Thomas Pennington and grandson, Odell Locklair, Jr. Pallbearers will be Leonard Redd, Ralph Redd, Wallace Redd, Todd Heath, Jeff Heath, Brent Heath,Eric Muhlbaier and Jimmy White. Memorials may be directed to Darien Baptist Church, 1362 Hatchaway Bridge Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
