NEW ELLENTON, SC - William Carl Johnson, 82, of New Ellenton, SC, beloved husband of Beverly Mayer Johnson, died Monday, July 2nd, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mr. Johnson was born in Eau Claire, WI to the late Harry and Winnie Sarver Johnson, having made New Ellenton his home since the mid 1950's. He retired from DuPont Construction and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 399 in Charleston, SC. He was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, and proudly served his country in the US Navy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly M. Johnson; children, Phyllis Flynn, New Ellenton, SC, Gail Ramsey Crook (Harold), North Augusta, SC, Angie Prout (Steve), Fountain Inn, SC, Terry Kendrick (Jimmy), Aiken, SC, Amy Rogers (Jim), Knotts Island, NC, Sammy Johnson(Daphnie), New Ellenton, SC and David Jonsen Virginia Beach, VA; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Darlene Paradise, Aiken, SC and a close family friend, John Ramsey. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at Noon, Thursday, July 5th, 2012 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Brancie Stephens and Mike Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Flynn, Phillip Ramsey, T.J. Kendrick, Carl Johnson, Ricky Johnson and Jonathan Metts.
