AIKEN, SC -- WILLIAM R. "BILL" PARISH, 79, husband of the late Marian Martin Parish, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Dothan, AL, Bill was a son of the late Russell and Wilma Harris Parish. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a Master's degree in chemical engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the chemical corps in Panama. Bill and his late wife lived in Lakeland, FL for many years before moving to Aiken 20 years ago. He worked as a chemical engineer in the phosphate industry for Davey - McKee Company in Bartow, FL and world-wide. He held several patents related to the industry.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Jeanette Parish of Aiken, two nieces and a nephew.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Bethany Cemetery. The Reverend Dr. Christopher Crotwell will officiate.
