WILLISTON, SC -- ROBERT A. ADAMS, 65, beloved husband of Melinda Lee Adams, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his residence. Born in Auburn, AL, Bob was a son of the late Robert W. and Elizabeth Kilpatrick Adams. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After college he became a corporate pilot for Delta Tire Company in Charlotte, NC. He was Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy where he received the Legion of Merit. He retired as a Lt. Commander after serving for 21years. Bob moved to Aiken 21 years ago. He retired as a nuclear engineer from Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was the former owner of the Port Hole Saloon & Grill and former co-owner of the Aiken Winery. Bob was an avid motorcycle rider and hunter, and also loved building and restoring vintage automobiles. He was a loving, fair and honest husband and father. Survivors in addition to his wife Melinda, include two daughters, Allison Adams and Leslie C. Adams, both of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Yates C. (Ariana) Adams, Charlotte, NC and R. Quinby (Cindi) Adams, Phoenix, AZ a sister, Andrea Adams (Robert) McVey, Houston, TX and a brother, Kirby Clarke Adams, Melbourne, Australia. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Saturday March 10, 2012 at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
