Eloise Johnson Burckhalter

AIKEN, SC -- ELOISE JOHNSON BURCKHALTER, 93, wife of the late John F. Burckhalter, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and live long resident of Aiken, Mrs. Burckhalter was a daughter of the late Lonnie J. and Mary Lou Glover Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. For many years she enjoyed meeting her friends every morning for coffee at McDonalds. Survivors include a daughter, Mariann (Larry) Coleman, Belvedere; two sons, John R. (Rose Ann) Burckhalter, Aiken and Charles P. (Denise) Burckhalter, North Augusta; six grandchildren, Annette Burckhalter, Brian Coleman, Jeff Coleman, Philip Burckhalter, John Chambers and Jared Jester; seven great-grandchilren; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Walton, Aiken. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burckhalter was preceded in death by a sister, Cleoniss O'Banion and a grandson, Richard Burckhalter. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
