New Ellenton – Mr. Virgil Livingston, 76, of New Ellenton, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the funeral services at 12 PM Tuesday in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Brancie Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Ford, Dave Shellabarger, Scott Thompson, Mel Youngblood, Gary Everhart, Dave Lawson, Chris Roe, Rick Willard and Greg Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Livingston was born in Prosperity, SC, a son of the late Omerle and Ruth Wilson Livingston. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was retired from E.I. DuPont after 32 years of employment. He was President of Youth Sports in New Ellenton, a member of the American Legion and in the Corinth Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Livingston is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Jumper Livingston; a daughter, Gail (David) Shellabarger; two sons, Eddie Livingston, Bill (Robin) Livingston; nine grandchildren, Karen Daniel, Becky and Susan Shellabarger, Karla and Joey Lane, Brandi Jordan, James Livingston, Chris Roe, Carolynn Livingston; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Moore, Cayce, SC; a brother, Vernon (Mary) Livingston, Newberry, SC. In addition to his parents, a daughter, Lynn Kaney, preceded Mr. Livingston in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Corinth Baptist Church, 805 S. Main Street, New Ellenton, SC 29809.
